What to be sayin..

Thanks to http://www.inkyfingers.com/pyrates/index.html I have made a few modifications of my own..

Pyrate - To Gyrate whilst saying Yaaarrrrr! Often to release a dangling Caulk

Privateer - A pirate who likes his privacy.

Buccaneer - A Navigator of the Windward Pass.

Usage : Steer clear of that Buccaneer, he’s got his deadlights on yer booty mate!

Corsair - A Pirate bad hair day, Usage: Ye might Try a different conditioner lad, ye have Corsair.

To Go on Account - Urinating on a nobleman, a common pastime in days of yore.

Walk the Plank - It was considered cruel to have a dog onboard, so pirates who missed their pets, would often take the plank for a walk. Usage: That's a hard looking dog ye have there, Aye, his barks worse than his bite

Swing the Lead - What you would do to pass the time while you waited for your plank to return after a game of fetch.

Take a Caulk - Dropping ones cannon balls in Davey Jones Locker. Usage : I wouldn't go in there for a wile mates, I just took a Caulk.

Shiver my Timbers - You took my plank for a walk, now he's all cold and wet!

Long Clothes - Long clothes were a style of clothing best suited to landlubbers. A pyrate, or any sailor, didn't have the luxury of wearing anything loose that might get in the way while climbing up riggings. Landsmen, by contrast, could adorn themselves with baggy pants, coats, bra and stockings safe in the knowledge that no one would ever say 'Hello Sailor'!

Black Spot - Due to the constant salt spray and inadequate wash rooms, pirates often suffered badly from poor skin

Bilge - German Newspaper, oft read by pirates due to a very good personals section.

Come About - To commence 'Keeping Watch from the Aft Deck' - see Buccaneer

Careen - to careen a ship is to take it into shallower waters or out of the water altogether and to remove barnacles and pests from the bottom. Usage: Arrrr - I've come about, and I'd prefer it if you called me Captain Careen from now on.

Fo'c's'le - The Ships Latrine - Where's me paper Jim lad, I'm off the Fo'c's'le for a Caulk

Jolly Boat - A Ship who's occupants were light of heart, perhaps as a result of some recent booty plundered, or just an uplifting sea shanty.

Long Boat - Peanis Envy was just as much of a problem back then.

Yardarm - A chronic muscle complaint much worse than tennis elbow, often though to have derived from spending too much time playing 'back yard golf'.

Mizzen - a term meaning "middle" on a ship. Usage : Yaaarrr, we must have taken a direct hit, the mizzenmast is mizzen, I'm off the Fo'c's'le for a Caulk

Poop Deck - the deck at the furthest back of a ship. Usage: Poop Deck? No thanks, I 'm a privateer, I'm off the Fo'c's'le.

Letter of Marque - a document given to a sailor (privateer) giving him amnesty from pyracy laws as long as the ships plundered were of an enemy nation. Usage :What's this Marque on my Letter? Well there was no paper left in the Fo'c's'le!
